Uh-Oh . . .

We put her to bed, waited for her to fall asleep, and suddenly a little head appeared over the railing. She learned how to stand up by herself, and we are all in trouble!!

We had a terrific Christmas. She didn't care much for opening presents, but she enjoyed the toys and all the festivities. It was a wonderful holiday, and we are all so blessed!!

More Videos

I have gotten video-happy now that the videos are uploading again! In these two, you will see Bethie learning how to make music, and feeding herself some toast. :-)

Videos - Finally!

We got the videos to work, so here is the video of Bethie's first visit to Santa! It's not the most exciting, but he did try to tickle her to get her to laugh. She never did, but she didn't cry, either. She is so even-tempered!

I love this one! Bethie has these Baby Einstein blocks, one of which has vibrations when you pull the string. Well, she can't grab the string yet to pull it, but she is so resourceful . . .

Bethie - Naughty or Nice?

I've been trying all week to upload the cute videos I have of Bethie eating her cookies, opening presents, and otherwise being brilliant (she figured out how to make one of her toys work by pulling the string with her teeth since she couldn't grip it with her fingers), but for whatever reason, I cannot make them work. We also have a cute video of her seeing Santa Claus today but it won't upload either, so we'll have to make due with still images.

We waited in line for an hour and a half today to see the Jolly Old Elf, but Bethie was her usual calm, patient self. Mrs. Claus said that she couldn't believe how well Bethie behaved, but of course, we weren't surprised! She wasn't at all afraid of Santa, and even though we did not get a smile out of her, she was cute as always. It is going to be the best Christmas, ever!

Big Girl!

Bethie is officially a big girl! She has 4 teeth on the top and 2 on the bottom, and while she cannot crawl just yet, she can scoot and turn herself around and over in every direction. It is pretty funny to lay her down for a nap these days, because she is never in the same position when I check on her!

She still had a little bit of cradle cap on her scalp last weekend, so Jeff and I decided to use baby oil to get it off. We had been letting it come off naturally in the tub, but it was taking SO long. We put the baby oil on her scalp, let it set for 10 minutes, and it all came off. However, even after two shampoos, Bethie still looked like a little grease monkey. It's hard to tell in still photographs, but her hair stuck straight out, and I was able to sculpt her ponytails! Her hair is fine now, but I get a kick out of these pictures!

We're Mobile!

Bethie is no longer a little baby. She is moving way too fast towards little girl in my opinion, but we are enjoying each new stage and accomplishment. She now has her four front top teeth and the two middle on the bottom, and here is a video of her newest trick: scooting! It is not quite crawling, but that won't be far off. Every time she is on her belly she rocks onto her knees, so expect to see some crawling soon. She is such a joy and a blessing!

Bethie's First Halloween

Our little princess was a fairy princess for Halloween, and very cute. We took her to a pumpkin patch to get some pictures, and although she is not old enough to really play with anything there, we had a good time. It was a gorgeous day - a definite upside to Texas is the weather this time of year - and it was fun to have a family outing.

Later on, we took her to a few neighbors' homes around here. I think the excitement, and the cotton candy, was a little too much for her, though. She woke up no less than 5 times last night, and kept both Jeff and I up for far too long. She also does did understand that we were supposed to get an EXTRA hour of sleep today!

In other news, I decided to do a good deed, and I donated my hair to Locks of Love. They cut off more than 10 inches, and it is VERY short. I like it, but I do miss the long hair. I really felt called to do this, though, so hopefully a child will get some use out of my mane!
